Service and food were great. Intimate/cozy setting. Limited large party seating. We went for breakfast. 2 breakfast orders and 1 OJ was less than $30 with tip. It's the fan, so one must be creative with parking. But we did did not have trouble this day with finding parking or a seat/table. Food was too delicious and went o quickly too take a pic! And the portions left us both fully satisfied!

Small but personal with great food. I felt very well taken care of and they want to make sure every part of your meal is exactly what you'll enjoy. I ordered a beer I didn't know, but had heard of. The server wasn't sure if I'd like it and on their own brought out a sample for me to taste. I was able to change it to something I enjoyed rather than have to choke down my mistake.

Great food with a lot of vegetarian options. Great happy hour prices. Service is great even on busy nights when there is a show at the Altria theater.

Best french toast I've had on the east coast! I had the lemon curd stuffed french toast and oh man it was so good. Will be back! Loved the atmosphere of the place as well

Amazing experience! Brought the family here for lunch. Got the pulled pork sandwich which was outstanding, wife got vegan buffalo chicken wings (not sure how that works), and the kids got monster face pancakes. Everything was awesome and the service was prompt and polite. Careful of mistaking chips and fries, because they serve both as sides.

I LOVE this place! So mad I strayed today! You always have the best options for plant based ppl like me. Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Portions are always satisfying! Been coming here since my daughter’s sophomore yr at VCU, and this year she is graduating! Thank you for being a consistent staple! ❤️❤️❤️

Added our name to the wait list for Breakfast. Several groups who came after us were seated before us. Waitress completely forgot about seating us. After four couples were seated before us, we opted to leave. Wait staff was seating people who did not have the entire group present upon arrival. Restaurant was extremely disorganized. Disappointing as out of town guests. Would not reccomend. Bullet holes in store front window. When leaving waitress, noticed and runs outside (where we were told to wait) to offer seats at the bar. Three guests, however there were not three consecutive seats available at the bar. Gave one star as Google forces to give at least something.

Nice place for a meal. The vegan chicken satay was delicious.

Everything I love about a Richmond bar. Good food, beer and people. It had been almost 20 years since I last visited and I was happy to see the new location hadn't changed the vibe. This place has some of the best brunch in the city and some delicious beers on tap, it's a winner. Hope to see you 20 years from now.

Had a great time. Everything we ate was delicious wings, onion rings, salmon bagel. The drinks were varied and happy hour was a good deal. The interior has a unique fun design. Some vegan options too but didn’t try any. Will definitely go again

Absolutely wonderful experience. Friendly wait staff and owner. All of my table's food was fantastic and hit the spot, vegan or not! We were very happy with the portions for the price and allowed to take our time and enjoy our stay without being rushed. Seriously, find a time to go have a meal at this place.

Hearty breakfast for a modest price, but really busy, we we're lucky to get a seat at the bar. Despite the crowd they took our orders, brought our drinks and got our food out quickly. This cafe is definitely on my radar for it's relaxed home-grown atmosphere. Expect to spend $13 a person if you order fountain drinks. Cocktails are $6.50 (and VERY strong), pints $6 with a broad selection of craft brews.

Great food and atmosphere with decent prices. We'll be going back to ensure we can try dessert next time. Good beer selection and I ordered the app and dinner specials, both were excellent.

Took the opportunity to go by and check out their vegan offerings and found it to be quite impressive. This is a dish of BBQ'd jack fruit, slaw and corn over a Johnny cake. Behind that is a fake meat gyro with vegan chili. Both dishes were full of flavor, service was incredible as we sat at the bar. Great spot, we'll make a trip back soon for an Impossible burger or vegen chicken sandwich!

Popped into 821 and the staff was immediately friendly and attentive. Menu had a ton of vegan options and decent selection for us carnivores. I loved the pork sandwich. Super tender thick slices of seasoned pork...slight cumin flavor, carmelized onions and honey mustard. Eclectic beer selection and neat atmosphere. Would go back!

Be weary, the vegan items that are fried (or anything fried like fries) are NOT vegan/vegetarian. The fryers are shared with wings- just a heads up for anyone! Just to make the vegan fried chicken sandwich they had to wrap it in foil on the grill (because there is no designated veggie or vegan grill space). Sadly won't be coming back until the "vegan" items are vegan (or even vegetarian, yikes)!

The bagel plate with smoked salmon for breakfast.... awesome! Good vibes, not too big, servers were on the ball, and just a relaxed, easy-going joint overall. Will definitely go back to try other dishes!

We happen to be in Richmond, VA for work. We were hungry and decided to have dinner before returning to Charlotte, NC. We looked up places with vegan options and I can say with no issues, one of the best meals ive ever had. With that being said our waitress has the personality of a wet rag. Our 3 year old can hold a conversation better than her. Again food was amazing.

Food was awesome and service was better! Got a salad and grilled cheese. Alot of healthy vegan options.

Lot of vegan friendly options! I had the buffalo tofu sandwich and it was so good the atmosphere was cozy. I can see it getting hectic and crowded at rush times but when we went it was great. Service was good too. The only thing I could say badly is that the fries were nothing to write home about. I do wish that they had a way to specify in the menu if certain things were vegan/vegetarian or not (like onion rings) because you can never be too sure otherwise!

Had the Vegan Chai French Toast. The texture, taste and aroma was impeccable. Amazing service that has vegan and omnivore options. Highly recommend to anybody looking for breakfast on Cary Street.Wonderful food I will definitely be back!!

SUPERB place. I go here every weekend and I love it. The coziness, the food, the homey atmosphere. The servers and bartender treat you like family. Great vegan options and non-vegan as well. This place is a MUST-GO if you're in Richmond.

The biscuits are hand cut and prepared fresh! We had breakfast in a very hip nostalgia atmosphere for a great price. Highly recommended for anyone!

Glad we arrived before the crowd. Definitely will go back again. The food was quite good and definitely a lot for the cost. There was a lot of variety, so I really enjoyed building my own omelet. I didn't get the French Toast, but it was beautifully plated and my friend loved hers. A terrific jewel in Cary town.

Beyond Burger is excellent! Some great vegan choices. Staff is always friendly!

I love this Cafe, my boyfriend and I eat here all the time. He is a carnivore, I'm a vegetarian and we can both find something to enjoy everytime we come here. Highly recommended!

Casual spot for delicious breakfast. French toast, pancakes, biscuits, everything was very good. We were there during the summer so VCU students were gone which made getting a seat very easy.

Quaint little dive with a great menu, bar drinks, breakfast all day, and super friendly staff. Order the pimento burger and you won't be sorry! And the bacon relish that tops off the burger would be awesome with just a spoon!!! Try it, you won't be sorry.
